So are any of my wonderful followers doing Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt....What 600 HST OMG are you kidding me....I wish I was doing it but no time at the moment so am just saving the clues for another time...The rush is on now to do a million things around the farm before we fly away to Kauai, Hawaii for 5 glorious weeks of fun in the sun...whoooooo hoooooo.

Well thats it for me for now, I'm off to my quilting room to sew more as I have a Valentine gift I designed for my Fiance' and need to have it at least sewn together before we leave so I can pack it as we will be in Hawaii for Valentine's day...oops hope he doesn't read this...he looked at me like I was off my rocker wanting to go sew after the marathon I've been on...oh my what was I going to say...so like any good lil white lie would do, I said this was for pleasure and relaxation....hummm wonder if he fell for it...besides I will be saved by all the football he will be watching.....

The Quilting Marathon is Finally Over

Oh my heavens, I don't think I have every had such a quilting marathon...hummmm oh yes I have....duh....same time last year...rush rush rush...if anything could wrong it did...So there I was in the wee hours of Christmas morning, baking and quilting...sheeish when will I ever ever learn....but they were completed and delivered on time...all was happy and I was exhausted to say the least...would you like to see the 2 quilts I had to complete..oh come on please you really want to see them don't you....hehehehe...ok here they are...the black/white/blue is called Paradigm Shift from McCall's june 2010 issue, the other quilt is called Shadow Box...
So without further delay here they are.....2 quilts pieced and quilted in 1 month.

This Mystery will not stay on Bonnie's site forever...it will be removed on July 1/2011 as it will be featured in her new book scheduled to come out in 2012.

Done Done Done

As some of you may or may not know...here in Saskatchewan, Canada, this year we had a record amount of rain which really made seeding and growing and harvest, one that most won't soon forget.

Well as of Friday 22nd of October 2010 at 11:49pm we finished harvest. Saturday was a beautiful crisp sunny day and all machinery was brought back to the yard. What a sweet sound to hear the final key shut off on the combine and swather. As we all sat on the end gates of our trucks and sipped on our beers we all said this season was a season from hell...we did 7weeks of work in 3weeks...there was no sleeping, and even though there was plenty of meals and lunches made everyone lost weight...there was more break-downs than we care to think about...

Today it is raining, and they are predicting freezing rain/snow for tomorrow...even though there is some field work left, like banding and fertilizing, we just have this big sigh of relief.

I would like to take this time to send out the biggest hug and thanks to my youngest son who came and helped us and basically kept us going as he was swathing ahead of the combine and did the most perfect swathing job any of us have ever seen....for putting up with all the demands that were put on him and the long unexpected hours he put in...it was sooooo greatly appreciated, more than words alone could not express....Thanks bud for everything you did for us....hugs and kisses
