ReplyDeleteWhen I first started quilting and I didn't have many "tools" my favorite tool was my checkbook, since that's all I did was buy stuff! But now, I guess I would have to say I love my 5X24 inch O'Lipfa ruler.

ReplyDeleteI am now a follower! What an interesting blog! My favourite "tool": this may be slightly twisting the meaning of "tool" but my favourite are my cardboard project boxes. I have six and all the fabric, accessories, completed blocks and pattern for a project fits into one. Keeps me organized and means I can pick up a project and go when I'm getting together with "quilty" friends. PS yes I have more than 6 projects on the go but at least a few are organized :) My email address is ilovetogarden@rogers.com
ReplyDeleteONE of my favorite tools is my self closing rotary cutter! Opening and closing my older one irritated my arthritic thumb and it's just so much safer for me...good seam ripper and sharp scissors are right in there with my basic rulers and mats...pretty basic stuff around here!!

My favorite tool is my No Frills SID template that I got at Kingsmen Quilting Supply online. It's the perfect size to use for SID (stitch in the ditch), about 8" long & 3" across...has a slot and a hole that fits over the hopping foot...so it can be used as a micro handle for tiny, close quiliting. Best feature, under $8.00 + shipping.

ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in this fun hop. As for a favorite tool, I tried to think what I'd hate to live without when quilting and I think it would be the internet if that is acceptable? I spend so much time (too much time?) there gathering ideas. No more magazine subscriptions piling up in boxes for those someday projects. Guess I wouldn't want to go on without the rotary cutter either...

ReplyDeleteMy favorite quilting tool is my rotary cutter - I can't even imagine going back to "the old way" of cutting with scissors and cardboard patterns - YIKES!
ReplyDeleteThanks for such cool prizes 7 the chance to win them! My very favorite quilting tool would absolutely have to be ummmm....gosh, there are so many I just couldn't live without! I'll have to start with the debit card, goes without saying. Without that, there's no quilting. Then we move on to my dear husband. He's the driver, in so many ways & on so many levels. He's always taking me places & encouraging me to go beyond my comfort zone. Plus, I'm color blind, and he's NOT! Then there's the rotary cutter and my ONE ruler. I'm trying to win the Cutting Edge set, but I dunno...think I'm gonna have to whip out that debit card again. There are more: my walking foot, my 1/4 inch foot, my new serger (love/hate relationship there, for sure), my embroidery module, my fabric cabinet that keeps me straight....oh, and my constant companion - my new puppy.
ReplyDeleteI am your 50th follower. I would love it if your giveaway found it's way to my mailbox. A quilter can never have too much fabric.

Hmmm, I guess my favourite quilting tool is my daughter's pink sewing machine! It's cheery, it means I don't have to hand-sew, and the pedal doesn't drive the needle too fast and send my stitches on a drunken path! lol

ReplyDeleteMy favorite tool is my sewing machine. Not much would get done without it.
ReplyDeleteSo my favorite quilting tool is a rotary cutter...the story goes like this: I 'borrowed' my sister's rotary cutter (secretly hoping to keep it forever {wink})...and she recently took it back :( bummer...now I'm back to using scissors. I didn't realize how much easier, faster...more accurate...the rotary cutter was until I no longer have it. Now I complain daily to my husband about needing a new one. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for a wonderful giveaway!

So many tools it's hard to choose! But I'd have to say the rotary cutter because it totally changed my life in regards to quilting!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your giveaway!
A good straight edge and a sharp rotary cutter. Yep, two things but one without the other...?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite quilting tool has to be my new Cut-Rite Bind Up binding tool.
ReplyDeleteI tried to follow you, but your "follow" tool is messed up for some reason. I've added your blog to mine as a following, but I don't know if that puts my picture on your list of followers. So, really, I did.
ReplyDeleteI usually say my favorite quilting tool is my husband as he's also a quilter and helps me alot. But today I'm mad at him and am thinking he's more of just a "tool". So I think I'll pick my cat who helps hold the fabric, chase the strings and frequently unthreads my machine by walking under the spool holder line.
ReplyDeleteMy sewing machine. I love to listen to the gentle hum as I quilt.
